Testimonials

As part of my clinical practice, I have seen first-hand the painful effects of divorce. Mediation is an alternative to litigation that helps couples (and their children) through divorce in a way that is more compassionate, cooperative, and less stressful. Mara’s caring nature, along with her background in law and counseling, make her a great asset to divorcing couples. I highly recommend her as a mediator.

Divorce without Lawyers

If you have limited or no assets or debts and no minor children, divorce without lawyers can be the way to go. Many courts provide self-help centers and numerous paralegal firms handle these situations.

Even if you do have some assets, debts, and/or minor children, or you just want to make sure that there are no loose ends, divorce without lawyers is still likely to be the best option. In fact, it is for these reasons that many couples mediate their divorces.

Unlike attorneys, who cannot ethically represent both parties, divorce mediators use their legal knowledge to make sure that both parties are aware of all issues involved in their divorce. They make sure that both parties make fully informed decisions about their property, debts, and children (including custody, parenting time, and child support).

Through mediation, divorcing couples are assured that all of the matters involved in their divorce have been completely settled and included in a comprehensive, legally binding agreement. They are also assured that their divorce is concluded quickly, inexpensively, and with as little stress and strain as possible – all without lawyers.
